Response of plant defense enzymes against tomato early blight disease

چکیده

An experiment was conducted to identify the biochemical defense enzymes, viz. catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POX), phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) and total phenol responsible for resistance against A. solani in resistant (cv. H-88-78-1) susceptible (Punjab Chhuhara) cultivars of tomato after application Amistar 25 SC (azoxystrobin 0.1%) during 2015 crop season. Azoxystrobin applied their efficacy inducing enzymes solani. Defense-related were increased azoxystrobin pre-treated plants. Early blight plants treated with novel QoI (Quinone oxidation inhibitor) fungicideazxoystrobin inoculated under glasshouse conditions showed accumulation CAT, POX, PAL thancontrol

Bioefficacy of Pyraclostrobin 25%EC Against Early Blight of Tomato

Pyraclostrobin 25%EC at., 50, 75 and 100ga.i/ha, was evaluated for two seasons against early blight of tomato cultivar NS2535. The efficacy of pyraclostrobin was compared with commonly used chemicals viz., captan, mancozeb and an untreated control. Phytotoxicity effect of pyraclostrobin was evaluated using a single spray, at concentrations of 100, 200 and 400gm a.i/ha Pyraclostrobin at all conc...

Induced systemic protection against tomato late blight elicited by plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria.

ABSTRACT Two strains of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), Bacillus pumilus SE34 and Pseudomonas fluorescens 89B61, elicited systemic protection against late blight on tomato and reduced disease severity by a level equivalent to systemic acquired resistance induced by Phytophthora infestans or induced local resistance by chemical inducer beta-amino butyric acid (BABA) in greenhouse as...

Enhanced tomato disease resistance primed by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus

Roots of most terrestrial plants form symbiotic associations (mycorrhiza) with soil- borne arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). Many studies show that mycorrhizal colonization enhances plant resistance against pathogenic fungi. However, the mechanism of mycorrhiza-induced disease resistance remains equivocal. In this study, we found that mycorrhizal inoculation with AMF Funneliformis mosseae sig...

Current Status of Early Blight Resistance in Tomato: An Update

Early blight (EB) is one of the dreadful diseases of tomato caused by several species of Alternaria including Alternaria linariae (which includes A. solani and A. tomatophila), as well as A. alternata. In some instances, annual economic yield losses due to EB have been estimated at 79%. Alternaria are known only to reproduce asexually, but a highly-virulent isolate has the potential to overcome...

Integrated miRNA and mRNA expression profiling reveals the response regulators of a susceptible tomato cultivar to early blight disease

Early blight, caused by the fungus Alternaria solani, is a devastating foliar disease of tomatoes, causes massive yield loss each year worldwide. Molecular basis of the compatible host-pathogen interaction was elusive. We adopted next generation sequencing approach to decipher miRNAs and mRNAs that are differentially expressed during Alternaria-stress in tomato. Some of the interesting findings...
